Climate data for Developing Countries |

Andrew asked: I was most interested in developing countries' water table, climate, flood, soil data, etc? Is any of that in geodatabase, or not quite yet?
Answer: I have some basic but useful layers for all countries in their resource center online here. For more environmental types of data I would search for your government departments, say the planning, environment, resource or industry departments to begin with. Other sites I am familiar with include:
- Columbia University has a great search tool with a lot of data for developing countries, say the elevation layer for Sudan and the land use.
- The GeoCommunity website has a huge list of data organized by country. Free signup required.
- The CDE (Center for Development and Environment) has a good range of datasets available online.
- The UNJLC (United Nations Joint Logistics Center) is a good contact to find resources for your country.
